FAQ’s General

How do we sign the agreements?

There are two ways to sign the agreements.
  1. Electronically. Please download the agreement as PDF files, insert your name and role title and apply a manual e-signature. You can return the agreements to us via email: registry@internetnz.net.nz (Connection Agreement) and registrar@dnc.org.nz (Authorisation Agreement).

  2. On paper. Alternatively, you have the option to print the agreements, sign them with a pen, and return paper copies to us.

Please send it via courier, with name, role title and signature required, and allow enough time for the agreements to arrive by 17 March 2026.

When do we need to return signed agreements to InternetNZ?

Signed agreements should reach us on or before 17 March 2026.

Where can we find the current version of the .nz Rules and the rules consultation materials?

The current version of the .nz Rules (version 3.1) is available on the InternetNZ website. The latest .nz Rules consultation materials, released in October 2025, are also available on the website.

Where can we find the new version of the .nz Rules and when is it coming into effect?

The updated .nz Rules (version 3.2) is available on the InternetNZ website. It will come into effect on 17 March 2026.

FAQ’s Authorisation Agreement

Why did you change the AA?

The current version of the Authorisation Agreement has not been reviewed since 2018. Since its last update, we migrated to a new InternetNZ Registry System (IRS), a few rounds of .nz Rules changes took place, as well as some legislation changes which needed to be reflected in the agreement. Please refer to the Notice for more information.

What changes were made to the Authorisation?

Are there any actions we need to take after the new AA comes into effect?

Share it with your teams who manage .nz domain names to ensure they understand the registrar’s obligations.

Who needs to sign the AA on our end?

The registrars authorised signatory such as a Director or Chief Executive Officer.

FAQ’s Connection Agreement

Why did you change the CA?

The current version of the Connection Agreement was last reviewed in 2022. Since the last update, there have been some updates made to the .nz Rules and the Authorisation Agreement, which needed to be reflected in the Connection Agreement.

What changes were made to the CA?

Are there any actions we need to take after the new CA comes into effect?

Please refer to the Summary of changes to the Connection Agreement This provides information for which changes apply to you, which just need to be noted, and which may require some action on your end.

Who needs to sign the CA on our end?

The CA must be signed by a person or the persons who has/have the authority to do so (e.g. a director or any authorised representative with authority to act on behalf of your organisation).
