2024-05-21 IRS release 8.16 OTE Testing now OPEN - Production Maintenance window scheduled

IRS release 8.16 is now available in the OTE environment for registrars to test their processes

This release includes all the revisions and updates made since version 8.7

The planned schedule for this release is:

  • 20 May 2024 — 8.16 release into OTE/testing

  • 16 June 2024 — 8.16 release into Production

  • IRS release 8.16 change log is published here

This gives registrars a two-week window ending on 5 June 2024 to complete testing of their processes before the release is deployed to production. Testing can continue after this window, but any release changes that cause material risk must be reported to InternetNZ by the end of the day NZST 5 June 2024.

IRS Production Maintenance window

  • 11th June 2024 — IRS Production Maintenance window - 7:00 - 8:30 am NZST

We will be performing system maintenance during this window IRS Production systems will be unavailable during this period.

Registrar testing process

We strongly encourage registrars to perform testing for each new IRS release, as InternetNZ is not able to test registrar processes that are specific to your implementation.

Registrars must notify us of any release change that causes them material risk during the testing window. We will evaluate and respond during the same period and may request to see your testing logs to assist in this process.

Notifications

Going forward, the first notification of a release will be given to your key contact email we have on file. You’ll receive additional reminders about the upcoming releases via the registrar newsletter, Slack, and the Status Page

Changes to the release timetable

In the event of a change to the release timetable, we will perform the following actions:

  • Send a notification via email detailing the changes (registrars should ensure that InternetNZ has your up-to-date contact email for release notifications)

  • Update the maintenance window on the InternetNZ Status Page.
