SRS Release 8.0 to 8.6

The following covers the important, registrar affecting changes that occured in releases 8.0 to 8.6 of the SRS.

EPP Session Lifetime

The maximum lifetime of an EPP session is now limited to 1 day after which the server will automatically close the connection.

DNS Delegation Loop Prevention

It is no longer possible to specify name-servers that cause an in-zone DNS delegation loop.

A DNS delegation loop is when a domain names used by a name-server in DNS delegation path contains domain name being created or updated.

Disallow Duplicate DNS Glue

It is no longer possible to specify name-servers that have duplicate IPv4 or IPv6 DNS glue records.

Unused Handle Deletion

Contact handles that have not been linked to a domain for over 90 days are now automatically deleted.

EPP Session Connection Limits

Registrars are now limited to 10 concurrent authenticated EPP connections. An 2502 error code will be returned if a registrar has exceeded the limit.
