In today’s email: * IRS release 8.7 dates and schedule * ClientTransferProhibited — policy requirements reminder * New Domain Name Commissioner is appointed * Registry Lock feature is under review * Meeting in person at NamesCon and ICANN **ClientTransferProhibited — policy reminder** There are currently approximately 17,000 .nz domains with ClientTransferProhibited set. As outlined in .nz Rules and IRS guide, **for .nz, this setting is prohibited**. * `.nz Rules: `_ 4.1.3. A Registrar must not decline or delay a Domain Name Holder’s request to transfer its domain name to another Registrar (by withholding the authorisation code or otherwise). * IRS Guide: **clientTransferProhibited** This status prevents Domains from being transferred and cannot be assigned to either Contacts or Hosts. For IRS, registrars are not permitted to set clientTransferProhibited status **Registry lock timeframe under review** We continue to review the design of our pending registry lock service. As a result, our release timeframe has not yet been set, but we are still targeting this year. We will provide a further update in our next newsletter. Barbara joined the DNC with extensive leadership, governance and oversight experience across multiple industries, mainly regulated entities and financial services. **Meeting in person at NamesCon and ICANN** Our Tumuwhanake | General Manager Customer and Product Tim Johnson will attend NamesCon in Austin, TX, on 31 May - 3 June, and ICANN77 Policy Forum in Washington, D.C., US, on 12-15 June.
